The Palm at Jumeriah | Dubai, U.A.E.

We finally made it to the Palm at Jumeriah! I’m sure you’ve seen it. It’s the big man made, palm tree shaped island (see map below). That’s the Palm, and Jumeriah is the beach area surrounding the Palm. I never realized just how big the palm tree island was until we were there. It is HUGE! The island is full of Dubai’s high-end homes, condo’s, etc. It’s also home to plenty of higher-end resorts such as Atlantis, Four Seasons, St. Regis, and the like. We were out on a mission to find a good beach club with views of Dubai’s skyscrapers in the background. After all, Beach clubs are a plenty throughout the world, but beach clubs with a skyline? That’s a little more rare.

When it comes to good food and good views, Ula took the win. It has an Ibiza-inspired atmosphere and has a variety of events going on every week such as an Art breakfast on Sundays where you can paint with an instructor during breakfast, all while overlooking the Persian Gulf.

The menu consists of mainly Mediterranean dishes, but it also includes 5 different steak and beef options, pizza, and a variety of kids options.

Day passes that include the beach and pool start at 100 AED, or about $27.00 USD, with half of the entrance fee available as a food or beverage voucher. Ula is open from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. I recommend getting there before 10:00 am to secure a beach bed.

Other Recommended Beach Clubs

Soulbeach Dubai - The new kid on the block. Cancun meets the Middle East. If you’ve ever been to a beach club or party in Cancun, you’'ll know exactly what I’m talking about. Bright, bold colors coupled with a live DJ really brings this beach club to life. Packages start at 150 AED with 100 AED ($40.00 USD) redeemable towards food.

Nammos - Staying with the trend of bringing in outside influences, if you’re wanting a little bit of Greece in the U.A.E, this spot of sand located at the Four Seasons Jumeirah does it well. Nammos really brings in the Mykonos style, elevated with the sophisticated touch Four Seasons is known for. The Mediterranean cuisine paired with a large selection of Champagne and Wines- including some from Mykonos, will have you feeling international in no time.

Nikki Beach - If you’re a big fan of beach clubs, chances are you’ve already heard of Nikki Beach. With beach clubs located around the world, from Barbados to Porto Cervo, Ibiza to Koh Samui. Jack Penrod, who founded the original Nikki Beach in Miami in celebration of his daughter’s life, has kept up his exquisite taste of combing the best in music, food, entertainment, fashion, and art- topped of with amazing beach front locations- the Dubai location being no exception to this. Pricing changes according to the season, so it’s best to check on their website here for current information.

Azure Beach - With the most meticulous care in the landscaping, cabanas with private plunge pools, and possibly the best beach real estate in the Jumeriah area, it’s easy to see why Azure is often referred to as the best beach club in Dubai. Not only is it a great atmosphere, the service is on another level. The Asian fusion food is just the cherry on top. The club is divided in to three sections - the beach, the pool and cabanas, and the lounge. A great pick for a chill day. Pricing starts at 300 AED ($80.00 USD) that includes a sunbed, towel, and 100 AED food credit.
